Material & Care
Material & Care
HomeX Outdoor Blinds are engineered to withstand New Zealand’s high UV levels and coastal winds. To ensure longevity and peak performance, please follow these guidelines.
1. Premium Materials
- Fabric Options: High-tenacity PVC-coated Polyester or Fiberglass mesh. These materials are UV-stabilized, flame-retardant, and designed to resist fading and mildew.
- Frame & Tracks: Marine-grade 6063-T6 Aluminium with a premium powder-coated finish for maximum corrosion resistance.
- Hardware: All internal components are made from stainless steel or reinforced polymers to ensure smooth operation in all weather conditions.
2. Cleaning & Maintenance
- Routine Cleaning: Use a soft-bristled brush or a microfibre cloth with warm, soapy water (mild detergent only). Gently wipe the fabric and side tracks to remove dust and salt spray.
- Rinse Thoroughly: Always rinse with clean fresh water after cleaning to remove any soap residue.
- Track Maintenance: Keep the side tracks clear of debris (leaves, dirt) to ensure the blind moves smoothly. A light spray of dry silicone lubricant on the tracks once a year can help maintain smooth motion.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Never use bleach, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the UV coating and weaken the fabric.
3. Operational Care
- Dry Before Retracting: If the blinds are wet from rain, allow them to dry completely before rolling them up into the cassette. This prevents the growth of mold and mildew.
- Wind Safety: While HomeX blinds provide excellent wind protection, they should be fully retracted during extreme wind events or storm warnings to prevent damage to the tracks and fabric.
